Alice is Alpha Robotics' humanoid reception robot: a 1,500 mm wheeled service robot with a sculpted head, two arms and a 13.3-inch HD touch screen set landscape across its chest. It senses people approaching from different directions and plays welcome and farewell messages, answers questions by voice, and leads visitors to a chosen point in the building.

Alpha positions Alice for stations, airports, hotels, shopping malls, banks, hospitals, schools, government service halls and restaurants, and pictures it in hospitals, retail stores and museums. Face recognition compares a visitor with a database the operator has enrolled so the robot can greet the people it recognises, and counter tasks such as information inquiry, fee checks and queue calling can be built in to order.

Alice and Amy stand the same 1,500 mm tall and list the same eight core functions, so the choice between them comes down to the body. Alice is the lighter of the two at 45 kg, carries the smaller 13.3-inch screen and makes its humanoid face the focal point, while Amy is built around a 21.5-inch display and an LED face. Alice has 3 degrees of freedom and runs up to 10 hours per charge.

An open SDK and API let developers add functions for a particular venue. Welcome messages, on-screen content and languages are set per country and region, and the language package you need is confirmed at quote.
